The Karper Family Testimony
" God Gives A Family A Child With Special Needs"
My name is Tonya. I have been married to my husband Dave for 5 years. We have a 7 year old son named Tanner. He was conceived through a previous marriage. Dave has raised Tanner since he
was 6 weeks old.
Dave & I conceived a son named Maddux. He is 4 1/2 years old. At the age of 3, Maddux was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder/Asperger's Syndrome. For those of you who do not know, it is a form of autism.
In the beginning, I was so angry with God. I asked him:
1. "Why did you give this child to me?"
2. "Is this my punishment for backsliding?"
3. "Where and I going to get help for Maddux?"
4. "Does anyone hear our cries for help?"
5. "Could anyone understand what Dave and I were going through?"
We have gone through so many rough days dealing with all of Maddux's issues. For a time,
it even caused a severe separation between Dave & I.
.........But Through God,
All things are possible & We stand firm in HIM!
Are you facing a trial right now?
Do you ask yourself, everyday, the same questions that I asked?
If you do, Dave & I know what you are going through. We know the questions your asking. We feel the pain that you have. We know how desperate your need is to get help.
But I will tell you this;
"
God is your first step. Without him, You cannot make it!"I have ask God these questions, and here is what HIS reply is:
"Lord, can you heal my child?"
HE says: Yes! One of my names is Jehovah Rophe. It means, My Healer.
"Lord, do you hear my prayers?
HE says: Yes! When you come to me & pray, I will listen to YOU.
Jeremiah 29:12
"Lord, You picked the wrong parents!! We do not have the strength, we do not have the patience, & we do not have the money to fight this fight.
HE says: I chose you purposefully. You can do anything through ME. I will give you strength!
Phillippians 4:13
"Lord, I don't know how to help my child."
HE says: I do! I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, & who directs you in what way you should go.
Isaiah 48:17
"Lord, our dreams & our hearts are broken."
HE says: I know, God sent me to bind up the broken hearted.
Isaiah 61:1
"Lord, people tell me that autism is impossible to overcome"
HE says: Don't believe them. Everything is possible for him who believes.
Mark 9:23
"Lord, raising this child is hard & I am so very tired.?
HE says: Do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest, if you do not give up. Galatians 6:9
"Lord, give me hope that my child will overcome autism"
HE says: Fix your eyes on not what is seen, but what is unseen.
1 Corinthians 4:18
"Lord, what is your plan for my child & me."
HE says: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind conceived what I have prepared for those that love me. 1 Corinthians 2:9
"Lord, I will tell the world how you healed our child."
HE says: Thank You. Another name of mine is Jehovah-Nissi,
It means, " My Victory! "
This very week, God gave Dave & I a message that we have been waiting to hear & what a blessing it was! HE told us: " I WILL HEAL YOUR SON!!!!"
I'll tell you this, no matter what situation it is you are going through, be patient and stand firm in the Lord, for HE will bring you & your family through all that HE puts in your path!
